Hourly rate of $39.67 to $55.73 for Registered Nurses (Year 1 - Year 8) and $35.69 to $38.84 for Enrolled Nurses (Year 1 - Year 4) plus a 25% casual loading. Access to salary packaging via Maxxia to maximise your take home pay.

Macquarie University Health is seeking an experienced casual Registered Nurse (Endoscopy) to join our Endoscopy team. This is an opportunity to work in a contemporary service where patient-centred care, safety and quality are central, and where clinical excellence is supported by the unique benefits of an academically integrated health environment.

You will work alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team of leading clinicians, with access to ongoing learning and development, evidence-based practice and quality improvement opportunities.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in Endoscopy, you will contribute to safe, compassionate and high-quality care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, assisting and recovering patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring safety, comfort and dignity throughout the patient journey.

  • Completing thorough pre-procedure assessments, including relevant history, risk screening and patient education.

  • Monitoring patients intra- and post-procedure, identifying deterioration early and escalating appropriately.

  • Administering medications in line with scope of practice and organisational policy, including supporting procedural sedation where credentialed/competent.

  • Maintaining competency in endoscopy equipment set-up, checks, troubleshooting and post-procedure care, and adhering to infection prevention and control standards, documentation and quality improvement activities.

Selection Criteria

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the A ustralian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions or undertakings.

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in endoscopy/procedural nursing (or a closely related acute/perioperative setting with strong transferrable skills).

  • Strong assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills, including recognition and escalation of clinical deterioration.

  • Experience with (or willingness to develop competency in) procedural sedation support, airway management fundamentals and endoscopy equipment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to provide clear patient and family education pre- and post-procedure.

  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and ongoing professional development.

  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly as a casual team member to meet service needs.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
