Job Description

The Critical Care (CC) Registered Nurse is a professional care giver who is primarily responsible for planning and providing comprehensive patient care, utilizing accepted nursing standards of practice and by applying the nursing process; care provided will address physical, psychosocial, educational and discharge needs of the patient. The Registered Nurse guides and supervises assigned nursing personnel, collaborates with other health care professionals, coordinates ancillary services and functions within the policies and procedures of the department, the hospital and the legal framework of the State of Tennessee.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree Program preferred.

Licensure / Certification: Must possess a current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. Employee must have valid BLS and ACLS when hired. PALS certification must be obtained during the initial orientation period. New Graduate nurses orientation may be extended to accommodate classes which must be completed within 60 days of hire. TNCC is preferred.

Experience / Knowledge: Previous critical care experience preferred.
