Position Summary
The role of the Registered Nurse reports to the Operations Manager and Director of Nursing. This position is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the total nursing care of assigned patients including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation. This position is responsible for delegating to and supervising the job classes of student nurse, ED Tech II, phlebotomists, paramedics, and unit secretaries. If in the role of clinical coordinator will be responsible for delegating to other RNs. This position assists in the orientation of new staff and clinical supervision of EMT, paramedic, and nursing students. This position assists in achieving patient quality of care, national patient safety, regulatory agency, and budgetary goals.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive and accurate patient assessment using evidence-based assessment tools
- Provides nursing care according to plan and undertakes clinical practice skills in a competent and safe manner
- Identifies changes in patient condition and reports to appropriate providers in a timely manner
- Initiates and monitors care that patients receive
- Maintains patients’ medical records through complete and accurate documentation
- Evaluates patient needs and communicates to care team as appropriate

Qualifications
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas Registered Nurse license & CPR, required.  ACLS within 90 days of hire, required. PALS within 18 months of hire, required. This position requires a moderate sedation and dysrhythmia course, and TNCC within 12 months of date of hire or transfer. National Certification and ASLS is encouraged.

Experience: This position is available to experienced nurses only. Previous experience in an acute care setting, preferred.

Work Environment: This position has exposure to body fluids, radiation, and communicable disease. This position spends the majority of time standing and/or walking of short distances, with frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of up to 100lbs as well as occasional carrying of up to 25 lbs. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with the majority being adults and geriatrics.
