Shift: 12-hour shifts

Schedule: 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.

Weekends: Every third

Holidays: Rotating

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Registered Nurse – ER will deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department and may float to other units as deemed necessary, including Med/Surg and other areas requiring support while applying the nursing process and assessment skills in accordance with CCM Health policies. Key responsibilities include triage, trauma care, medication administration, emergency interventions, patient education, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies. This role requires proficiency in advanced life support, ventilator management, cardiac drips, and obstetric emergencies while ensuring accurate documentation, effective communication, and seamless continuity of care. Additionally, the RN will foster a positive work environment, engage in quality improvement initiatives, maintain required certifications, and optimize resource utilization to support excellence in patient care.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current unrestricted Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) certification required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification optional.

SKILL(S):

  • Demonstrates proficiency in current nursing principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Effectively functions as a team leader, assuming responsibility and accountability for decisions and patient outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, families, colleagues, and physicians, utilizing AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You).
  • Understands the legal scope of nursing practice and adheres to professional standards.
  • Maintains clinical competency through ongoing education, training, and independent study.
  • Comprehends and follows complex oral and written instructions with precision.
  • Builds and sustains effective working relationships with team members and the public.
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills to prioritize and coordinate patient care efficiently.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years of nursing experience (ER or critical care preferred).
