
Nemours is seeking a Day Medicine Registered Nurse. The Day Medicine Unit has 10 physical bays that can accommodate 10 patients at one time. The Sedation Suite houses two anesthesia induction rooms, two sedation induction rooms and eight recovery bays. We have just expanded to also have the PET/MR Suite which includes one anesthesia and one sedation induction room. Hours of operation for Day Medicine are between 0600 and 1930, Monday through Friday. After hours, weekend and holiday service for sedation is provided by a rotating call team of two Day Medicine registered nurses. The registered nursing staff in Day Medicine cares for approximately 650 patients each month.
Day Medicine performs single or ongoing outpatient IV infusions for many medical conditions. Day Medicine also services all of the needs for pre-sedation and anesthesia preparation, intra-procedural care and subsequent sedation / anesthesia recovery for all Medical Imaging diagnostic studies and interventional procedures as well as minor procedures occurring outside of the operating room, emergency room and intensive care environments. The average length of stay varies by procedure from only minutes to 8 or more hours.
This position is full-time, 30 hours per week, varying shifts.
