Job Description

Responsibilities

    • Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation
    • Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff as necessary
    • Communicate changes in patients' clinical conditions with Physicians, Nursing Supervisors/Managers, and co-workers as appropriate
    • Participate in the discharge planning process
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards

Qualifications

    • MINIMUM EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ASN, ADN, BSN, or MSN)
    • MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Previous clinical nursing experience required. Previous CV/Post-Op open heart experience preferred
    • REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse, or Graduate Nurse, Board Eligible. American Heart Association BLS required. Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire
    • REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
      • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
      • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
      • Proficiency in clinical, computer, and typing skills
      • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and healthcare regulations (preferred but not required)
