About the Position

  • POSITION: Registered Nurse - Clinic Pro-Time
  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary .8 FTE (64 hours in a pay period) to last approximately 6 months
  • WORK SCHEDULE: Days

The Pr-Time RN will utilize the nursing process - assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation - to support patients receiving services in the Pro-time clinic. The RN is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks. This position requires critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data.

WHAT YOU'LL DO HERE:

  1. Follows the RN process for nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of patient progress to function in a full scope RN role to support patients receiving care in the Pro-time Clinic.
  2. Works collaboratively with cardiologist, physicians/providers and pharmacy to manage patients on anti-coagulant therapy in accordance with organizational policies and protocols.
  3. Works collaboratively with clinic personnel/departments and hospital personnel/departments to support smooth patient transitions.
  4. Provides patient and staff education
  5. Hours and days of work may vary to manage organization's needs in accordance to the RN contract.
  6. Other duties in support of the patient's plan of care and consistent with full-scope RN practice in accordance with Minnesota Nurse Practice Act.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Minnesota
  2. Experience in providing direct patient care, patient and family education as well as assisting the physician in the delivery of patient care.
  3. Current BLS certification (or is willing to obtain within two months of employment.)
  4. Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  5. Demonstrated competence in managing patients using Patient Care Protocols.
  6. Ability to manage change in a positive patient centered manner.
  7. Experience in anti-coagulant clinic preferred.
  8. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
  9. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.
