Job Description

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Advanced Care team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

The Advanced Care Unit is a 20-bed unit that serves acute and/or chronically ill patients requiring close observation, management, and monitoring. We care for patients having acute MI’s, unstable arrhythmias, or require temporary pacemakers. Patients having respiratory distress-requiring bipap or hi flo. Medical patients such as GIB, DKA, or pulmonary hypertension. We also care for vascular surgical patients such as CEA’s, LE bypass, endovascular AAA. Nurse-patient ratios 3:1 or 2:1. Individualized orientation for each new hire, ECCO, and ACLS certification.

Work Schedule: 0.75 FTE, Straight Overnight 12-hour shifts & every third weekend

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an associate, baccalaureate, or master’s degree program in Nursing. BSN preferred and generally expected that BSN is obtained within 2 years of hire.

  • Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
  • BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
  • Excellent critical thinking, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • 1+ year(s) of Acute Care RN experience
