Job Description

Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a RN Cardiac/Interventional Procedural/Recovery (Cath Lab) - PRN The nurse in this role is primarily responsible for the care of patients in the pre-and post-procedural phases of Cardiac Services and Interventional Radiology. The nurse must possess comprehensive knowledge of pre-intra-and post- procedural care of cardiac patients, including conscious sedation, airway management, pain and comfort assessment and intervention, as well as an understanding of hemodynamics and treatment of hemodynamically unstable patients.RN Cardiac/Interventional Procedural/Recovery Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates professional conduct, effective communication, and a collaborative spirit in interactions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Maintains flexibility with patient assignments, shift assignments and work schedule.
  • Responds appropriately to both real and simulated emergency situations and demonstrates working knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Performs pre- and post-procedure patient assessment and monitoring according to the provider orders.
  • Develops individualized patient care plans and implements prescribed interventions with precision.
  • Remains proficient in identifying cardiac arrhythmias and initiates appropriate interventions.
  • Demonstrates competency in neurological assessments and responds appropriately.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
  • Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. BLS required. ACLS preferred
  • Two years of experience in an acute care area (Preferably Cath Lab) is required. Will consider ICU experienced nurses with post cardiac care experience.
