- Day/Evenings rotating every other weekend (6:45am-3pm/2:45pm-11pm)
- Evening/Awake overnights rotating every other weekend (2:45pm-11pm/10:45pm-7am)

Qualifications:  Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN is preferred, licensed as a nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and CPR certified.
Assessment, planning and evaluation of patient care. Provides group therapy and trauma informed care to patients.
Essential Functions:
- Plans and implements individualized nursing care.
- Initiates written nursing care plan individualized to resolve the problems identified in assessment.
- Documentation of nursing interventions, patient response to treatment plans, and identifies teaching needs and patient response to teaching.
- Completes and documents teaching in the medical record prior to patient discharge
- Maintains a safe environment for patients and colleagues.
- Orients new employees using orientation guidelines and corrective feedback.
- Assesses patient needs, prioritizing nursing care activities and assigns patients’ care according to patient needs and skill level of staff daily.
- Provides trauma informed care to patients
- Models a calm approach to managing crisis
- Supervises staff in proving strength based care, using sensory tools, and recommends rehab consult as needed
- Assesses patients for early signs of escalation and helps them use their safety plan in preventing further escalation.
- Leads and documents on a weekly basis a group for patients.
- Safely administers medication and documents according to procedure.
- Adheres to policy of patient confidentiality, maintains professional boundaries and accepts float assignment as needed.
- Identifies resources to facilitate effective patient care.
- Maintains effective working relationship with other departments and clinicians.
- May be assigned to a charge nurse or med nurse role on shifts assigned. As charge nurse responsible for daily shift assignment, completing SBAR report, completing 24 hr report and maintaining oversight of staff and patient movements on the shift.
Essential Competencies:
- Knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors, cultural and age related issues with patient populations.
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications and other treatment modalities for psychiatric disorders and Chemical Dependency.
- Ability to relate to other team members including giving clear direction to MHCs.
- Meets standards for educational requirements of Bournewood Hospital Nursing Department including current CPR competency.
Minimum

Qualifications:
MA licensure.
Experience in inpatient psychiatry.
Chemical Dependency and Medical Surgical Nursing experience preferred.
CPR certification required.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Physical Criteria:
- Must be able to climb stairs and walk the grounds.
- Must be able to assist with patient care, example: turning a patient in bed, assisting with ambulation.
- Must be able to participate in restraint procedure.
- Must be able to see clearly to read medication labels, etc.
Reports to: Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisors.
Supervises:   LPN, SMHC, Milieu Therapist, Mental Health Counselors.

QualificationsMinimum

Qualifications:
- A valid and current nursing license in the state of MA.
- Experience in inpatient psychiatry, chemical dependency and medical surgical nursing experience preferred
- CPR certification required.
Physical Criteria:
- Must be able to walk the grounds of the facility and potentially sprint short distances.
- Must be able to assist with patient care surrounding lifting, turning and restraining patients if needed.
- Must be able to lift 50-60 pounds and participate in restraint procedure.
