Program Description:
Diversion (Adult Residential Treatment Program)
Mission including population served: The mission of the Diversion program is to provide individuals with a serious and persistent mental illness and on-going significant issues with social supports, living skills and lack of natural supports with a safe environment to develop emotional, relational and daily living skills required to be more successful in their independence in the community. Program participants have an active role in their treatment and will be encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunities available in the community
Services provided: The Lancaster Diversion Program is a short-term residential program for Lancaster County residents who are adults with a serious and persistent mental illness. The intention of the program is to divert persons from more intensive inpatient treatment (ie state hospital or Extended Acute Unity).
Treatment services are designed to support individuals in developing self-sufficiency skills that will allow them to live as independently as possible in the community. Educational programing and therapy of varying modalities are offered in different combinations on a daily basis.
The program psychiatrist meets with each resident once a week for treatment review and medication management. The program nurse oversees the administration of medications and the overall medical management of each resident.

General Summary
Provides and coordinates treatment and services to psychiatric patients. Functions as a member of the health care team at an intermediate nursing level to assist in the planning and implementation of patient care based upon sound nursing judgment, clinical preparation, knowledge, skills and experience. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the provisions of the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. In addition, serves as a nursing resource for clinical staff and may serve as the key clinical contact in the absence of the Nursing Supervisor or Clinical Team Lead by providing support for clinical staff scheduling and competency oversight of clinicians.
