Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Behavioral Health

Up to $20,000k Sign on Bonus - Commitment Two Years

Schedule: Three 12 Hour Shifts, Full-Time Days (7:00 am - 7:00 pm)

Location: Maria Parham Franklin – Louisburg, NC

At Maria Parham Health, we know good health includes good mental health. Our Franklin facility includes a unique Behavioral Health unit to serve the mental health needs of our area's population. Our Behavioral Health Unit is divided between 20 adult psychiatric units and our team of experienced and compassionate psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, nurses and support staff works with those between the ages of 18 and 55. How You’ll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
  • Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • Handle with Care preferred.
  • Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins

Patient Populations Served:

  • Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
  • Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present.
  • Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling; rare running or climbing.
  • Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current state RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • One year of experience is preferred (new grads encouraged to apply)
  • No call
  • Every other weekend
  • Rotating Holidays

Skills

Critical thinking and decisive judgment; able to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems. Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand). Ability to successfully complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
