One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary team at our Longlac Site. As an integral member of the clinical team, the Registered Nurse provides comprehensive primary care services using a client-centred approach within a self-directed and interdisciplinary team environment.

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care, health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management services while supporting individuals and families across the lifespan. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with other health professionals to improve access to care and support the overall health and well-being of clients.

The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and an excellent group health benefit package.

The salary range for this position is $72,039 to $83,187 annually. Compensation will commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Minimum three years of recent nursing experience, preferably in primary care, community health, or a related healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of and commitment to client-centred care practices.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to socioeconomic, cultural, and health equity issues.
• Demonstrated understanding of the health needs of populations who may experience barriers to accessing care, including individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, housing instability, chronic health conditions, newcomers, Indigenous peoples, and those who are uninsured or underinsured.
• Ability to perform clinical activities in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards and professional nursing practice.
• Strong assessment skills to identify physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial needs of clients.
• Knowledge and proficiency in evidence-based primary care practices, health promotion, chronic disease management, and harm reduction approaches.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic charting systems.
• Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
