About the Role

White Cross Whangārei is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our clinical team on a casual basis.

Working alongside General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, you will support the delivery of high quality, patient centred care to a diverse patient population. You will play an important role in ensuring patients receive timely, accessible healthcare while contributing to positive health outcomes within the local community.

What You Will Do

As a valued member of the clinical team, you will:

  • Deliver high quality, patient centred nursing care.
  • Undertake clinical assessments and nursing interventions within your scope of practice.
  • Support preventative healthcare initiatives, immunisation programmes, and health screening activities.
  • Assist in the management of long term conditions and acute presentations.
  • Provide health education and support patients to better understand and manage their health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on quality care and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, General Practice, or a similar clinical setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills.
  • The ability to work confidently and autonomously in a busy clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • A commitment to delivering compassionate, culturally safe, patient centred care.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confidence using clinical systems and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

The following would be advantageous:

  • Current Authorised Vaccinator certification.
  • Experience with chronic disease management and preventative healthcare programmes.
  • Experience using MedTech Evolution or a similar patient management system.
