Hours & Roster Details:

Employment Type Permanent Part-Time

Hours Average 16 hours per week (6-weekly rotating roster cycle)

Shift Time AM shifts only

Roster Pattern 2 days per week:

  • Week 1 Wed +Thu
  • Week 2 Tue + Wed
  • Week 3 Wed + Thu
  • Week 4 Tue + Wed
  • Week 5 Mon + Tue
  • Week 6 Thu + Fri

The purpose of this job


Bupa Merrivale Care Home is located in Te Kamo, Whangārei, in a peaceful setting surrounded by landscaped gardens and close to Kamo Village. The home provides rest home and hospital-level care.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality clinical care to residents across rest home, hospital and dementia-level care settings.

  • You’ll deliver person-centred care aligned with Nursing Council of New Zealand competencies, ensuring residents’ wellbeing, dignity and safety while supporting their individual needs
  • Success in this role looks like leading care delivery, embracing new care product innovations, and making clinical decisions while delivering safe, evidence-based care
  • You will excel at building strong relationships with residents and whānau, while actively contributing to continuous quality improvement

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate
  • NZ aged care experience preferred; other RN backgrounds considered
  • Demonstrated improvements in care plans, assessments and documentation quality
  • Identifies health changes early and acts to ensure safety
  • Communicates effectively with residents, whānau, teams and providers
  • Maintains clinical standards, accurate documentation and quality improvement
  • Confident using clinical systems, records and reporting tools.
