SALARY: $30.00/hr
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Current CPR/First Aid Certification
Registered Nurse license without public actions
Minimum of two years nursing experience
Experience working with patients with complex medical needs
Preferred
Clerical and computer experience
The hourly registered nurse assists with students' daily routine health care, medications, treatments, episodic and first aid care and assists in managing the school's Health Services Office, under the supervision of the building Licensed School Nurse (LSN) and/or health services supervisor. Will provide more individualized and potentially complex medical cares to student(s) May include supporting student(s) medical needs in classroom settings, field trips and off campus events
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manage site Health Services Office
Maintain confidentiality in all areas related to students
Report students with repeated symptoms/problems/incidents of communicable disease to LSN
Assists the building LSN in obtaining required verification of immunizations
Maintains continual communication with LSN regarding health office occurrences or changes to student health information
Accurately complete/maintain a variety of records, including services to students with IEPs
Assists with routine assessments, refers abnormal findings to building LSN
Attends required district, building, or nursing meetings and trainings
Will provide more individualized and potentially complex medical cares to student(s)
Dispense medication and assist in providing treatment as prescribed, this may include oral or nasal suctioning, tube feeding, checking blood pressure, catheterization, auscultation, and otoscopic exams (training will be required and provided)
Provide first aid as needed
May include supporting student(s) medical needs in classrooms settings, field trips and off campus events
Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL FACTORS:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions
Light Work: exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
