PASS is looking for aRegistered Nurse RN to join the team located in Norfolk, VA at Sentara Heart Hospital.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, no holidays or weekends

Shifts are 8 - hour or 10-hour days

The Sentara Heart Hospital, a 112-bed care facility, is #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in the State of Virginia and ranks #24 in the nation for best heart programs.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.

In this role, you will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. You will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, you will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to uphold the highest standards of patient safety, adhere to evidence-based protocols, and contribute to a supportive and empathetic environment. As a patient advocate, you will work tirelessly to ensure each patient’s comfort, dignity, and well-being while fostering trust and a sense of security. This role demands a commitment to continuous learning, adaptability to evolving healthcare practices, and dedication to promoting the mission and values of the healthcare organization. Responsible for performing competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by clinical area(s). Exhibits sound knowledge and understanding of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice.

Pass Registered Nurses review charts for accuracy, confirm vaccination/testing status, and maintain communication with physician offices throughout the day. They enter procedure orders and care plans for all Cath, EP, Procedure, and O.R. cases. In addition, Pass Nurses call patients prior to their scheduled procedure to review pre-procedure instructions, confirm medication lists, and verify allergy information

Education:

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN Required, or MSN

Certification/Licensure:

• Virginia RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.

• All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Experience:

•Cardiac nursing experience preffered

•12 Months of RN experience preferred
