......... are looking for a Registered Nurse to join the team and be responsible for providing high-quality care to Service Users, in-line with the highest regulatory standards. Reporting to the Deputy/Registered Manager, you will also be responsible for overseeing the care provided by our Health Care Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
Principle Responsibilities;-
- Be accountable for care delivered to Service Users.
- Assessing, planning and evaluating care needs or the provision of care.
- To oversee and deliver high-quality care to all Service Users.
- To support the Deputy & Registered Manager of the designated home in complying with the card standards in the jurisdiction working within.
- Act as a leadership role model for junior members of staff and Health Care Assistants.
- Adhere to high standards of clinical and non-clinical practice.
- Adhere to policies and standards set by the company and the care standards in the jurisdiction working within.
- Work within a wider organisational framework to ensure continuity of service for Service Users and employees.
- Attend supervisions and appraisals, as required and requested by management.
- Oversee care provided by Health Care Assistants on shift.
- To ensure that relevant documentation is maintained in a comprehensive manner.
- Comply with company and local audits and committed to achieving high standards expected from audits.
- Work to implement recommendations from company and local audits.
- To undertake and be accountable for tasks relating to medication administration, in-line with own training/competency and company policy.
General Responsibilities;-
- To provide, manage and direct high-quality care.
- To work as part of a care team providing a service to meet the highest regulatory standards.
- To support our Service Users and carry out personal care tasks as specified within the Care Plan(s) in order that the tasks are carried out to enhance and support the independence of the Service User.
- To be aware of any deterioration in physical and mental health of a Service User and oversee management of this effectively.
- To carry out tasks in a way that will demonstrate respect for dignity and privacy, irrespective of the severity of a Service User's disability or personal circumstances.
- To encourage positive social interaction with Service Users.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, unless there is deemed a risk to Service Users or any other members of staff.
- Ensure completion of relevant paperwork as required by your role.
- To participate in team meetings, supervisions and annual appraisals.
- To liaise with other agencies involved with Service Users, as required.
- To attend multidisciplinary agency meetings where requested and where appropriate.
- To respect the rights and choices of the individual.
- Undertake tasks in relation to medication administration, as relevant to role, training and company policy.
Personal Care Responsibilities;-
- To identify personal care needs of individual Service Users; ensuring that these are documented within care plans and the needs are met.
- To carry out personal care as per relevant care plans.
- To support colleagues to carry out personal care tasks, as per relevant care plans.
- Carry out medication administration tasks within the limitations of your training and competence.
- Wherever possible, to encourage Service Users to be as independent as possible with their personal care requirements.
Domestic Responsibilities;-
- To carry out domestic tasks relevant to their role, their location of work and as allocated by management.
- Ensure that the Service Users have a clean and tidy living environment.
Training & Development Responsibilities;-
- Maintain own continuing professional development, as per the Nursing & Midwifery Council (as relevant).
- To ensure that the mandatory training is complete and in-compliance with company standards.
- To support trainee and junior members of staff in their development.
- Attend training and education as allocated by management.
- Maintain registration with the care standards in the jurisdiction working within and the Nursing & Midwifery Council; informing management immediately if any sanctions or cautions are issued, or if you are removed/your registration has lapsed from either register (as relevant).
Compliance Responsibilities;-
- To comply with all respective Company policies and procedures attributed to Company operations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications;-
- Minimum requirement: relevant Nursing qualification, current RN/RMN/RGN status with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, current registration with the care standards in the jurisdiction working within. Registered Nurses are expected to be accountable for meeting their Revalidation requirements. Opportunity will exist for Revalidation portfolios to be signed off within the company.
