We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to revolutionise the way we deliver client care. Bringing your passion for improving client outcomes and dedication to excellence, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to elevate the standard of healthcare practices. This group home located in Hornsby has clients with complex health care needs, and offers a supportive work environment where your ideas are celebrate and hard work is rewarded!

The Role:

  • Plan for, implement and monitor long term preventative health care measures for ten clients with complex health care needs
  • Perform daily tasks such as intermuscular injections, complex wound care, colostomy/urostomy care/ileostomy/catheter care, medication administration including via percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, tracheostomy care, nebuliser application.
  • Support the House Manager to supervise Disability Support Practitioners' understanding and implementation of client health care plans
  • Work with other Registered Nurses on site to develop innovative preventative health care initiatives that can also be rolled out across other homes in the community
  • Set up and maintain regular GP clinics

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Nursing
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Ability and drive to support frontline workers with their understanding and implementation of client health care plans
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships through communication with a variety of different stakeholders
  • A role model in the provision of person-centred care to clients
  • An understanding of the rights of people with disability
  • Current driver's licence

Desirable but not essential skills

  • Demonstrated skills across a wide range of most evidence-based practice and the management of complex client support needs
  • Significant clinical experience, can be provided under clinical supervision on the job

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
