About the role

  • Xavier 7 South is 30-bed mixed medical ward: specialities include Gastroenterology, Renal, Nephrology, Immunology, Infectious diseases, Drug & Alcohol, Clinical Pharmacology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology & Dermatology.

  • You will provide evidence-basednursingcare to peopleof all agesand cultural groups, including individuals,familiesandcommunities.

  • Accurately conduct comprehensive and systematic assessments, analysing information and data and communicating outcomes as the basis for practice to achieve goals and health outcomes.

  • Take a leadership role in the coordination of nursing and health care ensuring you practice independently and interdependently.

  • Assuming accountability and responsibility for your own actions and delegation of care to enrolled nurses and health care workers.

About you

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse

  • Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
