Summary, Job Description, and QualificationsJob Title:                                  Registered Nurse – TVN MCE
Reports To:                              Director of Support Services
Direct Reports:                       None
Summary:
As a partner in building brighter futures for youth and their families, your role will be to provide medical services to youth referred for services to the child welfare MCE. This will be done in a professional manner, valuing every child, honoring families, and valuing partnerships and, in alignment with The Village Network’s Mission, Vision and Core Values.
Essential Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Complete physical assessments on children entering substitute care.
Monitors medication and completes a psychotropic medication reconciliation as outlined by the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code
Maintains medical record information for each child in substitute care in the State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
Participate in a nurse partnership and home visiting program with youth and their families to facilitate successful outcomes
Identify safety risks, document concerns, and make referrals regarding allegations of abuse or neglect as necessary
Communicate closely with all service team members and parents to ensure understanding and successful follow through with medical care related case planning services
Take detailed notes and complete data entry into the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS).
Provide court testimony as required
Participate in the semi-annual review process as required
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use a computer; proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with SACWIS preferred, but not required
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the state of Ohio; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
3-5 years of experience working as an RN. Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), teamwork skills, and time management skills.
Respectful of family-centered values with an ability to connect to and engage families, culturally competent and respectful towards others from diverse backgrounds
Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance.
Willingness to travel for various reasons, mainly during the day but occasionally overnight.  Ability to visit clients’ homes (may or may not be handicap accessible).
Must be able to pass a BCI/FBI fingerprint background check.
Physical Demands:
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, computer printer, etc.
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company
Ability to manage bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds independently.
