Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the physician, safely performs a range of clinical duties and provides support to the physician in the practice.

This part-time registered nurse position is intended to assist a board-certified surgeon and mid-level providers in the clinic and requires travel between the Bourbonnais and Frankfort locations.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and assists the physician in the provision of medical care, including:
  • Taking the patient’s history
  • Assessing the patient
  • Assisting with examinations, treatments, injections, infusion therapy, etc.
  • Preparing equipment and other medical devices, as needed
  • Performs ancillary functions such as:
  • Gathering and managing necessary documents (e.g. medical record, test results)
  • Coordinating physician’s phone calls, as needed
  • Modifying/coordinating schedule(s), as needed
  • Facilitating/Completing paper work, as needed
  • Acting as liaison between the physician and patient
  • Assisting in the stocking of clinical supplies within the patient care areas
  • Assuring proper operation of equipment and medical devices
  • Following up as needed to obtain or repair equipment and medical devices
  • Maintains cleanliness of the patient care areas
  • Educates patients
  • Assists in the education of patients in regards to their condition, physician orders, treatment plans, etc.
  • Participates in the Safety Program through education and implementation of practices to facilitate a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Completes other duties and assignments as directed by the Physician and Practice Administrator.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed in Illinois as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing, preferably in a physician office setting.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to assist patients during ambulation and examination.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
