We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services, including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home, provided by a network of board-certified physicians.

This RN 1-2 position(s) is located in the Medicine Unit and provides professional nursing care to patients and/or clients

Examples of duties

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.

Supplemental information

Job Duties:

  • Provides initial assessment and ongoing reassessment of patient including, but not limited to biophysical, psycho-social, environmental, self-care, education and discharge planning factors.

  • Provides direct patient care in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.

  • Communicates and coordinates patient care with Charge Nurse, oncoming nurse and other interdisciplinary team members.

  • Implements patient care, treatments and provides medications at appropriate intervals as prescribed by doctor's order.

  • Participates in staff development in-services based upon assessed learning needs.

  • Participates in unit meetings, quality improvement activities and orientation of new RN or subordinate staff members. Accepts delegated Charge Nurse duties.

  • Attends Educational In-Services, Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedure or deemed necessary by supervisor.

  • All other duties as assigned including ensuring departmental coverage.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a RN 1 to RN 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
Work Hours: The shift will be determined by the Department Manager.
Compensation: This position receives additional pay for every hour worked as follows:
Special Entrance Rates (SER):
RN2 $27/hour

Shift 2 -- $3/hour
Shift 3 -- $4.60/hour
Weekends -- $4.60/hour
Holidays -- $4.60/hour
Certifications -- up to $3/hour
