Job Description

We are currently seeking Registered Midwives to join us in a permanent full or part-time capacity for night duty positions on our postnatal floor This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Maternity Services team and provide compassionate care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Registered Midwife, you will be responsible for planning and delivering midwifery care to women and their babies within a multidisciplinary team.

You will make decisions regarding patient care and assess, plan, implement, and evaluate that care while working closely with other health professionals.

We are looking for midwives who are committed to constant professional development and are eager to work with the latest research and within the best practices.

You will be part of a high-performing team providing exceptional care, making every day at work a rewarding and enjoyable experience.


REQUIRED SHIFTS & WORKING HOURS:

  • Night Shift 2130 - 0730: 10-hour shifts

ABOUT YOU:
As a Registered Midwife, you will have:

  • Authority to practice as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA and current registration

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience (not including a post graduate year) in midwifery.

  • A strong commitment to providing excellent clinical care.

  • A dedication to patient-focused care and working as part of a team.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure.

  • A commitment to continuous professional development

  • The ability to work night shift as described.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
