Job Description

Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

£55,000 - £70,000 DOE + Performance Bonus

Chesterfield Area | Full Time

Looking for a role where you'll be trusted to lead, not just manage?

Delphi Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a growing children's residential care provider for a Registered Manager position in the Chesterfield area.

Let's be honest. Good Registered Managers have plenty of options.

The difference with this opportunity is that you'll be joining a provider that understands successful homes are built through strong leadership, good support, and a genuine focus on children, not constant firefighting and unnecessary pressure.

We're looking for a leader who can create stability, develop a strong team, maintain high standards, and build a home where children feel safe, valued, and able to thrive.

Whether you're already an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready for the next step, we'd love to hear from you.

What's On Offer?

  • £55,000 - £70,000 basic salary DOE
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Supportive and experienced senior leadership team
  • Genuine autonomy to lead your home
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Career progression opportunities as the organisation grows
  • Pension scheme
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • The opportunity to make a real difference to young people's lives

The Role

As Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home.

You'll lead your team, drive high standards of care, maintain regulatory compliance, and create a culture where children, young people, and staff can achieve their full potential.

You'll be trusted to run the service while having the support and guidance of experienced senior leaders who understand the realities of children's residential care.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads from the front and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up when needed.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the Home

  • Providing clear and effective leadership to the staff team.
  • Creating a positive, child-focused culture.
  • Supporting, mentoring, and developing colleagues.
  • Managing performance and promoting best practice.
  • Building a stable and motivated workforce.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Ensuring safeguarding remains at the heart of everything the home does.
  • Managing safeguarding concerns appropriately and effectively.
  • Working closely with local authorities, safeguarding teams, and external professionals.
  • Overseeing incidents, complaints, and significant events.
  • Ensuring children receive the protection and support they need.

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintaining compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Preparing for and leading Ofsted inspections.
  • Driving continuous improvement across the service.
  • Overseeing audits, quality assurance, and service development plans.
  • Managing Regulation 40 notifications and monitoring actions from Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reports.

Improving Outcomes for Children

  • Ensuring children receive high-quality, personalised care.
  • Promoting education, health, wellbeing, and independence.
  • Supporting children to build positive relationships and life skills.
  • Working alongside professionals and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Creating an environment where children feel listened to, respected, and supported.

About You

We're looking for someone who is resilient, organised, and passionate about making a difference.

You'll be a strong leader who knows how to motivate people, maintain standards, and create a positive environment for both children and staff.

Essential

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Eligible to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
  • Experience within children's residential care.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing staff teams.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience.
  • Good understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Previous Registered Manager experience.
  • Experience of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
  • Experience leading service improvement programmes.
  • Additional safeguarding, leadership, or trauma-informed practice training.

The Kind of Person We're Looking For

  • Leads by example.
  • Builds strong relationships with children and staff.
  • Remains calm under pressure.
  • Has high standards but is approachable and supportive.
  • Understands that great outcomes start with great leadership.
  • Never loses sight of why the job matters.

Why Join This Provider?

Most importantly, you'll have the chance to make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people every single day.
