Job Description

Registered Manager – OFSTED Children’s Residential Services
Salary/Package: Negotiable Part-Time/Consultancy (Progressing to Full-Time)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to support the launch and development of the first of multiple OFSTED-registered children's homes. This role begins on a part-time or consultancy basis, transitioning into a full-time position once the first home officially opens.
This is a unique chance to join at the very beginning of a multi-home development journey, shaping high-quality residential services for children and young people.

 

The Role

  • Lead the setup, registration, and mobilisation of a new OFSTED-registered children’s home
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and systems meet legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Recruit, develop, and lead staff teams to deliver exceptional levels of care
  • Support the transition from consultancy to full-time leadership once the service is operational
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the long-term growth of the residential portfolio
  • Oversee ongoing safeguarding, quality assurance, and compliance standards
  • Build positive relationships with local authorities, external agencies, and key stakeholders

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager within OFSTED children’s residential services
  • Strong understanding of children's home regulations, safeguarding, and compliance
  • Skilled in service mobilisation, documentation, and achieving registration
  • Confident leader with experience recruiting and developing staff teams
  • Based in or around Hull (or able to travel easily), as the first home will be located there
  • Open to either consultancy or part-time arrangements with a clear pathway to full-time
  • Passionate about creating safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for young people
