Job Title: Registered Manager
Location: Ringwood, Hampshire
Salary: £47,000 - £52,000
Service: Children’s Home (Ofsted Registered)
Service Users: Children/Young People – EBD with Mild LD
Qualifications Required: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
Experience in Years Required: Minimum 2 years residential experience (within last 5 years) + minimum 1 year supervisory/management experience in a children’s residential home

Who we are looking for…
A confident, child-centred Registered Manager who can lead an Ofsted-registered home in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards This role is currently being recruited quietly (low profile), so professionalism and discretion are essential. 🤝

You will be responsible for:

Leadership & Management ✅
Providing strong operational leadership across the home
Leading, developing and supporting the staff team (recruitment, supervision, appraisal, development)
Creating a positive, inclusive culture where children feel safe, supported, and empowered
Ensuring high standards of practice aligned to legislation, policies and the Statement of Purpose

Regulatory Compliance 🏛️
Maintaining full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding legislation
Keeping policies, procedures, risk assessments and documentation up to date
Submitting notifications, reports and required documentation to Ofsted and relevant bodies
Managing safeguarding concerns appropriately and liaising with the company’s DSL

Care Planning & Outcomes 🌱
Overseeing high-quality care planning tailored to each child
Working closely with professionals (social workers, education, health) and families
Tracking outcomes and ensuring children receive the support they need to thrive

Budgeting & Resources 💷
Managing the home’s budget responsibly
Ensuring expenditure is controlled and resources are used effectively
Maintaining a safe, homely environment that meets children’s needs

Essential Criteria 🎯
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
Minimum 2 years’ residential experience (last 5 years)
Minimum 1 year supervisory/management experience in a children’s residential home
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted frameworks
Ability to register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager

Desirable ⭐
Experience achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating
Therapeutic care experience/training
Valid UK driving licence
