Job Description

The Registered Dietitian Specialist facilitates the nutrition care process in specialty care areas or specialized populations with a moderate degree of autonomy, using experience-based knowledge, nutrition assessment, and diagnostic reasoning skills and competencies.

Park City Hospital is seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our collaborative nutrition team in a unique position that spans both inpatient clinical nutrition and outpatient lifestyle medicine and wellness services. This role offers the opportunity to provide evidence-based nutrition care across the continuum, helping patients improve their health through medical nutrition therapy, nutrition support, disease management, and sustainable lifestyle change.

As a member of both our hospital nutrition team and Lifestyle Medicine & Wellness Clinic, you'll collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and wellness specialists while practicing with a high degree of autonomy and clinical expertise.

What You'll Do

Inpatient Clinical Nutrition

Within our 37-bed community hospital, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments
  • Utilize the Nutrition Care Process (NCP)
  • Diagnose and monitor malnutrition
  • Develop and manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support plans
  • Provide individualized nutrition education to patients and families
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, pharmacy, and culinary services
  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives

Outpatient Lifestyle Medicine & Wellness

As a member of the Lifestyle Medicine & Wellness Clinic, you will:

  • Deliver individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Support patients with chronic disease management and prevention
  • Provide nutrition counseling for weight management and metabolic health
  • Partner with providers to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Utilize evidence-based behavior change strategies
  • Conduct in-person and virtual patient visits
  • Help patients achieve sustainable lifestyle and wellness goals

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

Full-Time | 72 Hours Per Pay Period

  • Nine 8-hour weekday shifts every two weeks
  • No weekends
  • No holidays
  • No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications (Registered Dietitian Clinical Specialist)

  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • For graduates after Jan 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university. Education is verified.
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program.
  • State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians. If the primary state of practice requires licensure or certification, this must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process in multiple patient populations and/or disease types.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evidence-based research to clinical practice.
  • 2 or more years of dietetics experience in a clinical setting, preferred.
  • Experience in managing patients in a specialty area, preferred.
  • Relevant dietetics-related specialty practice credential (CNSC, CSP, CDCES, CSO, CSR, CSOWM, etc.), preferred

Qualifications (Registered Dietitian Clinical)

  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible. If hired in registration eligible status, employee must successfully pass the Registered Dietitian credentialing exam within 6 months of hire to remain in the job.

Preferred Experience

  • Two or more years of clinical dietetics experience.
  • Experience managing patients within a specialty practice area.
  • Specialty credential(s) such as:
  • CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician)
  • CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist)
  • CSOWM (Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management)
  • CSO (Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition)
  • CSP (Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition)
  • CSR (Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition)
  • Other relevant nutrition specialty certifications

Registered Dietitian Clinical Pay Range: 29.43 - 45.39 Hourly

Registered Dietitian Specialist Pay Range: 32.34 - 49.94 Hourly

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
