Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans menu for clients, published 4x/week.
  • Prepares and delivers Nutrition Education classes to clients at least 3x/week.
  • Prepares individual nutrition assessment for each client within one week of arrival and prepares/documents meal plan prior to client's graduation from program.
  • Directs Head Chef and other cooking staff in areas including menu, meal prep, kitchen cleanliness, and customer service. Manages food inventory alongside Head Chef.
  • Assists with cooking classes as needed/required.
  • Provides guidance individually or in group discussions on the importance of following well-balanced nutritional guidelines.
  • Assists in authoring recipes for client's dossier.
  • Leads at least one grocery store tour and/or one restaurant outing with clients per week.
  • Assists Fitness Trainers with fitness assessments when needed.
  • Provide clients with positive, supportive, and constructive feedback in matters of nutrition and wellness.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian in the state of employment.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of nutrition and must be able to teach those principles to others.
  • Knowledge of addiction and drug treatment preferred.
  • Functions with an awareness of patient safety issues and applies basic principles of safety as identified within the facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
