A practitioner with a level of knowledge, skills and experience in dietetics practice necessary to be competent as a Registered Dietitian professional.
The Registered Dietitian's primary responsibilities include direct patient care through application of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) including the completion of the nutrition assessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, developing nutrition focused, evidence based interventions (including the nutrition prescription, example: diet/feeding order; and coordinating services related to Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients) and nutrition monitoring and evaluation; and provides nutrition counseling and education for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Required
Bachelor's Degree exempted from Masters requirement by virtue of existing status prior to the Jan 1, 2024 Commission on Dietetic Registration update.
Master's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; master's degree required when registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration is effective on or after Jan 1, 2024.
