
Madison County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) is a critical access hospital. It is also a hospital district facility, which is a quasi-government hospital whose board is appointed by the Governor of Florida. It operates twenty-five inpatient beds. MCMH generates approximately $19,000,000 in revenue each year and employs about 100 full-time staff.
MCMH is located about five miles north of Interstate-10, approximately 50 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida. Madison is the county seat of a county with a population of approximately 20,000. The county’s economic base is agriculture, State correctional facility, school district, local government and small retail.
Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for inpatients; swing-bed, and acute care populations.
Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
Provide medical nutrition therapy for acute and chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, malnutrition).
Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as needed.
Provide nutrition education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Document assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation for Critical Access Hospitals.
Participate in survey readiness activities and policy development.
Maintain documentation standards consistent with state and federal guidelines.
Support infection control and patient safety initiatives.
Food Service Oversight (as applicable in CAH settings)
Review and approve menus for therapeutic accuracy.
Ensure compliance with dietary standards and modified diets.
Collaborate with dietary staff regarding food safety and sanitation standards.
Quality Improvement & Collaboration
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings.
Contribute to hospital Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
Track and report nutrition-related quality indicators.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the State of Florida (LD/N).
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred (hospital experience strongly preferred).
Knowledge of CMS regulations for Critical Access Hospitals preferred.
Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in rural health or Critical Access Hospital setting.
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential.
Experience with swing-bed or long-term care nutrition services.

Diagnostic Services help restore, maintain and promote overall fitness and health through screening and early detection! Services include Endoscopy Services, Imaging Services, Laboratory Services, Respiratory/Cardiopulmonary Services, and Telemedicine.
Endoscopy
A procedure that allows a doctor to view the inside of a person's body. Colonoscopy helps with early detection for cancer.
Imaging provides diagnostic services for CAT Scans, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Xrays.
Laboratory Services includes Employment, Drug, Blood Test, and Specialty Test.
Respiratory/Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics helps identify issues related to breathing, lungs and heart. Whether you need testing or therapy during your inpatient stay at MCMH or your doctor orders an outpatient test, the MCMH respiratory therapy team provides caring support and treatment.
Rehabilitation services are provided inpatient and outpatient-includes speech, physical and occupational therapy.
