About this job:

The Hourly Summer Program Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides observation, coaching, modeling and training, on a referral basis, to school teams who request support with individual students who exhibit behaviors that interfere with their learning or the learning of others. Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary Behavior Team and partner with building-based school social workers and school psychologists, special educators, school administrators, paraprofessionals and other central office staff in the development and implementation of data-driven, evidence-based positive behavior interventions and supports. The goal of these supports is to develop adults’ prevention, intervention and reinforcement skills to promote students’ positive behaviors. Works under the guidance of someone who is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

What You'll Do:

  • In collaboration with district Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), school social workers/psychologists, Behavior Intervention Specialists, and other special educators and school administrators, supports and coaches building staff in evaluating, implementing, and monitoring specially designed instruction based on evidence-based behavioral interventions and accommodations
  • Delivers direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to support students with disabilities requiring ABA as part of their IEP or 504 plan
  • Implements district-based data collection systems
  • Attends relevant in-service training and required meetings
  • Collaborates with team members to develop and deliver monthly training sessions for school staff and special education team members
  • May also conduct direct Applied Behavior Analysis assessments for students with IEPs or 504 plans
  • Support building staff to:
    • Implement specially designed instruction to improve outcomes for students with challenging behavior
    • Provide positive behavior supports
  • Support school staff in their implementation of behavior intervention plans and provide behavioral supports to students
  • Coach SE&O paraprofessional staff serving students with behavioral challenges
  • Model and coach for school staff the use of:
    • Positive multi-tiered systems of supports
  • Replacement strategies/re-direction when implementing positive behavior supports and supporting students
  • Consult with the school’s problem-solving process to improve outcomes for students with behavioral challenges
  • Attend appropriate in-services training and required meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned



What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED in Education, Behavior (ABA), Special Education, Child Development, Psychology or related field, or 1 – 3 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification in the State of Colorado is required
  • 1+ years of related experience is required
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance

  • Strong attention to detail
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students

  • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills is preferred
  • Computer proficiency is preferred
  • Effective skills in time and people management is preferred
  • Effective skills in conflict resolution is preferred
  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, various cultures and issues is preferred
  • Respect of confidentiality and integrity to students as a district official is preferred
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule and workday
  • Ability to travel among school locations.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and car with appropriate insurance.
