The Pediatric Registered Behavior Technician – EIBI, under the direction and supervision of the treatment team, provides direct therapeutic contact to patients through the implementation of behavior implementation plans and skill building curriculum designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Specifics

Job Essentials

  • Applied Behavior Analysis skills. Implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities. Conduct direct one-on-one therapy sessions with clients to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors.
  • Clinical Duties. Provide support in various settings, such as homes, schools, or community locations, to address diverse behavioral challenges. Document and maintain accurate records of client sessions, behavior plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including BCBAs, parents, and other professionals, to ensure a comprehensive and consistent approach to treatments. Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in applied behavior analysis. Collect and analyze data on client progress, seeking guidance for adjustments from BCBA as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Hold a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Completed a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to demonstrate RBT job essentials
  • Experience working with autism and related disabilities or behavioral challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to follow behavior intervention plans accurately and adapt interventions based on individual client needs.
  • Adherence to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Physical ability to engage in activities with clients and work in various environments.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 1 year experience implementing ABA procedures for severe problem behavior
  • Post-secondary coursework in psychology, education, or related fields.
  • Training in discrete-trial teaching and naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention (NDBI)

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, labels, monitors, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$20.07 - $28.59
