Required Qualifications

  • Certification: Must have/maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and successfully complete Safety Care Certification.
  • Age: Must be 21 years or older at the time of hire.
  • Education &

    Experience:
    High school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of experience working with children OR a bachelor’s degree.
  • Driving: Minimum of five years of driving experience and a valid Colorado driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

RiseUp is seeking a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with special needs through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The RBT provides direct 1:1 and group support, helps reduce challenging behaviors, teaches skill-building programs, and models behavior strategies for other staff. This role requires strong communication, professionalism, and adherence to all BACB ethical standards.

Benefits begin at first of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (i.e. start date 4 January 2025, benefits initiate 1 March 2025).

Pay Range: $20.98 – $24.32 an hour paid bi-weekly based off experience with youth and education.

Shift: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow directions from RiseUp and the BCBA Supervisor regarding duties, performance, and ABA program implementation.
  • Provide direct 1:1 and group support using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Implement behavior acquisition and reduction programs with fidelity.
  • Model effective environmental setup, de-escalation strategies, and behavior interventions for staff.
  • Support students during behavioral escalations and report changes in behavior to the BCBA.
  • Collect accurate daily data and assist staff with proper data collection methods.
  • Collaborate with students, families, school staff, and the treatment team.
  • Provide feedback to paraprofessionals to support program consistency and integrity.
  • Participate in mandatory BCBA supervision, required trainings, and annual RBT competency renewal.
  • Communicate student progress and assist with creating materials based on ABA methods.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure a clean, safe, trauma-informed learning environment.
  • Recognize and address vicarious trauma and practice appropriate self-care strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, squat, crawl, and maintain various postures for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit on the floor or stand for long periods.
  • Ability to restrain, hold, transport, and utilize quick body movements as outlined in student Behavior Intervention Plans.
