- Portfolio Overview: The Regional Vice President of Operations will oversee a growing portfolio of 12-15 hotels across Texas, Missouri, New Mexico, Michigan, New York, and Arizona. The portfolio consists primarily of Home2 Suites by Hilton and Residence Inn by Marriott properties, with both operating hotels and hotels currently in development. The portfolio is owned by a single ownership group, allowing the Regional Vice President to build strong relationships with ownership while ensuring consistent operational execution across all hotels.
- Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% to 75% travel required to support hotel operations, property visits, leadership development, owner meetings, hotel openings, and portfolio growth initiatives across multiple states.
- Location Requirements: Candidate Must reside within the United States. Preference for candidates located near a major commercial airport to facilitate efficient travel throughout the portfolio. Central U.S. or Texas-based candidates are preferred due to the geographic footprint of the portfolio. Ability to travel as business needs require.

About This Position: We are seeking a strategic, results-driven hospitality leader to serve as our next Regional Vice President of Operations. This role will provide operational leadership and strategic oversight for a growing portfolio of select-service and extended-stay hotels. The Regional Vice President of Operations will partner closely with ownership, executive leadership, and hotel teams to drive financial performance, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and portfolio growth. This leader will play a critical role in supporting both existing hotel operations and future expansion initiatives while ensuring consistent execution across the portfolio. This position is ideal for an experienced hospitality executive who thrives in a hands-on leadership environment and enjoys developing people, improving hotel performance, and building strong relationships with ownership and property leadership teams.
Leadership & Team Structure
- Reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to General Managers across the portfolio.
- Partners closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Human Resources, Finance, and Development teams.
- Serves as a key operational liaison between ownership and hotel leadership.
- Supports hotel openings, operational transitions, and portfolio growth initiatives.
Portfolio Overview: The Regional Vice President of Operations will oversee a growing portfolio of approximately 12 to 15 select-service and extended-stay hotels across multiple states. The portfolio consists primarily of: Home2 Suites by Hilton, Residence Inn by Marriott, Similar extended-stay and select-service hotel brands. This leader will ensure operational consistency, financial performance, brand compliance, talent development, and guest satisfaction across all assigned hotels while preparing the portfolio for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership for a multi-property hotel portfolio, ensuring consistent execution, accountability, and achievement of company objectives across all hotels.
- Financial Performance Management: Drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and asset performance through effective management of operating metrics, business plans, and financial strategies.
- General Manager Development: Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop General Managers and hotel leadership teams while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Portfolio Oversight: Lead the operational performance of the assigned portfolio, ensuring consistency in execution, service delivery, and financial results across all properties.
- Revenue & Profit Optimization: Monitor and improve key performance indicators including RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, GOP, Flow-Through, labor costs, and overall operational efficiency.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with executive leadership and ownership to develop and execute business plans, growth strategies, operational initiatives, and long-term portfolio objectives.
- Performance Accountability: Conduct regular business reviews with hotel leadership teams, establish performance expectations, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
- Guest Experience Excellence: Champion a culture focused on exceptional guest satisfaction, service quality, brand standards, and reputation management.
- Brand Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all hotels maintain compliance with brand standards, company policies, safety requirements, and operational procedures.Talent Development & Succession Planning: Build organizational capability through leadership development, succession planning, talent reviews, and the identification of future leaders.
- Owner Relations: Serve as a trusted operational partner to ownership, providing recommendations, performance updates, and strategic insights to support business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Human Resources, Finance, and Development teams to maximize hotel performance and execute strategic initiatives.
- Hotel Openings & Growth Initiatives: Support hotel openings, acquisitions, transitions, and portfolio expansion projects while ensuring successful integration into the operating platform.
- Capital & Asset Management: Evaluate operational needs, capital investments, and property improvement initiatives that enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, and long-term asset value.
- Travel & Property Presence: Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the portfolio through regular property visits, leadership meetings, operational reviews, and ownership engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and hospitality leadership experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive hotel operations leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success overseeing multiple hotels within a regional or portfolio structure.
- Experience managing a portfolio of approximately 10 to 15 hotels or a comparable operational scope.
- Strong background in select-service and/or extended-stay hotel operations.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing General Managers and hotel leadership teams.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, labor management, profitability improvement, and operational performance management.
- Proven ability to build relationships with ownership groups and executive leadership.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the portfolio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a: Regional Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Operations, Regional Director of Operations, Area Director of Operations
- Experience with Hilton and/or Marriott branded hotels.
- Experience supporting Home2 Suites, Residence Inn, or similar extended-stay/select-service brands.
- Experience supporting hotel openings, transitions, acquisitions, and portfolio growth initiatives.
- Experience working directly with ownership groups, asset managers, and executive leadership teams.
Location Requirements
- Must reside within the United States.
- Must be located near a major commercial airport to facilitate efficient travel throughout the portfolio.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in Texas or other centrally located U.S. markets with convenient access to multiple states.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% to 75% in support of hotel operations, leadership development, property visits, owner meetings, and portfolio growth initiatives.
- Proven ability to effectively lead geographically dispersed teams in a multi-state environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate is a proven hospitality operations leader with experience overseeing multi-property portfolios within the select-service and extended-stay segments.
- While previous Regional Vice President experience is preferred, we are open to exceptional candidates who have demonstrated success in significant multi-property leadership roles and are ready for the next step in their career.
- Strong consideration will be given to candidates currently serving as: Regional Director of Operations, Area Director of Operations, Senior Multi-Property Operations Leader, High-performing General Manager with substantial multi-property exposure and demonstrated readiness for a regional leadership role
