About the Role

The Regional Training Hub Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting and strengthening rural medical training pathways across South Australia. Working within the Rural Education team, you will collaborate with academic leaders, health services, government agencies and industry partners to coordinate programs, events and initiatives that enhance student and trainee experiences, foster workforce development, and contribute to positive rural health outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful stakeholder relationships while supporting the growth and success of the Regional Training Hub across regional communities.

The position offers flexibility to be based at any of Flinders University’s Rural and Remote Health South Australia campuses.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating high-quality programs, services, events and learning opportunities that support medical students and trainees pursuing rural training pathways.
• Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with health services, government agencies, industry partners and other stakeholders to expand rural medical training opportunities.
• Providing expert advice, operational support and guidance to students, academics and healthcare professionals on Regional Training Hub initiatives and pathways.
• Supporting project delivery, reporting, evaluation and promotional activities to ensure the ongoing success and growth of the Regional Training Hub across South Australia.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to change 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035 by working towards strengthening our Stronger Together core enabler. Through collaboration with academic leaders, health networks, regional training hubs and external partners, the role supports initiatives that build a sustainable and connected rural health workforce.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, programs and events, with the ability to manage activities through all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and influence positive outcomes across a range of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, reporting and organisational skills, including experience interpreting policies, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• A collaborative and proactive mindset, with sound judgement, initiative and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA (FRRHSA) facilitates high-quality multidisciplinary health education and research in our State's regional areas.

We have a strong national and international reputation for providing community-engaged inter-professional training for medical, nursing, and allied health students. This includes the SA Rural Medical (SARM) program and multidisciplinary rural clinical placements.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment

Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University.

These include:

• Flinders University will require a current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University. The contract of Employment is conditional upon the receipt of these completed compliance checks. A disclosable outcome will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.
• Staff working in a health care setting are strongly recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the SA Health policy.
• It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working with Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
• A valid South Australian Driver’s License is an essential requirement of this position and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
