This position focuses on monitoring regional traffic conditions and coordinating responses to incidents using specialized systems and communication tools. The role helps maintain safe and efficient travel by providing timely information and supporting emergency and maintenance personnel. As a Regional Traffic Management Center Operator, you will perform the following duties:

• Traffic Monitoring: Observe traffic conditions through cameras, maps, scanners, and tracking systems to identify issues
• Incident Response: Assess incidents and activate appropriate devices such as message boards, speed limit signs, and advisory systems
• Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate with police, 911 centers, and maintenance staff to support safe and efficient incident response
• Public Information: Share accurate traveler information through digital signs, advisory radio, and statewide alert systems
• Record Keeping: Log incident details, timelines, notifications, and actions into required reporting systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are irregular and may be required to work varied shifts due to 24/7 operation.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience evaluating and coordinating information related to traffic data, incidents or conditions.

Other Requirements:

• The selected candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin, or Potter counties.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
