Job Description

The role requires collaboration with stakeholders i.e. Retail Banking, Treasury, TP&A, Trade Operations, Compliance, FI, I&TO and Governance etc. The incumbent will ensure alignment with the bank’s overall trade goals while ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.

  1. Lead and grow the trade finance portfolio across the assigned region.
  2. Identify business opportunities and support TBM/ Regional Heads / Branches/RMs in growing trade business through deepening the existing portfolio and acquiring new trade clients.
  3. Conduct regular client visits and joint calls with field team i.e. TBM/RMs/RRLHs and Retail Banking to deepen relationships and cross-sell trade products.
  4. Develop and implement regional trade growth strategies in alignment with national trade goals.
  5. Monitor trade performance metrics (volume, revenue, utilization) and ensure targets are met/exceeded.
  6. Liaise with product, operations, credit, and compliance teams to deliver seamless trade services.
  7. Act as a bridge between the field (Retail Banking and Retail Lending Teams) and central teams for feedback and process improvement.
  8. Provide training and on-ground support to Retail Banking and Retail Lending Teams on trade products and processes.
  9. Promote a trade culture within the region by driving awareness, ownership, and regular performance reviews.
  10. Ensure all trade transactions are executed in line with regulatory guidelines and bank policies.
  11. Mitigate risk by proactively monitoring high-risk transactions and ensuring KYC/AML adherence.
  12. Provide timely and accurate reports on trade business performance, pipeline, and key initiatives.
  13. Analyze trade data to identify trends, gaps, and potential opportunities.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.

Minimum experience:

  • 12 years of banking experience.

Other Skills / Competence:

  • Strong trade sales and analytical, process orientation and business acumen skills.

  • Excellent skills in identification of gaps to fit trade proposition

  • Risk identification skills, researching data, data collection and governance.

  • Effective interpersonal & presentation skills, ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and technical teams.

  • Strong Leadership skills.

  • Result Oriented, demonstrate potential to deliver under pressure.

  • Excellent negotiating, influencing, consensus building and conflict resolution skills.
