This Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Regional T&I Business Line Leader (RBL) to provide strategic, operational, and growth leadership for the Transportation and Infrastructure business line across the New York geographic region. The Regional Business Line Leader serves as the senior leader responsible for driving market growth, client engagement, operational performance, talent development, and profitable project delivery throughout the region.

This executive leadership role is accountable for advancing WSP's business objectives while promoting collaboration across business lines, practices, sectors, and geographies. The Regional Business Line Leader serves as the face of the business line within the region and plays a critical role in shaping strategy, delivering sustainable growth, and strengthening WSP's position as a trusted partner in the marketplace.

Your Impact

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with national and corporate growth strategies.
• Establish and maintain a compelling vision for the business line within the region.
• Identify emerging market opportunities, growth sectors, and strategic investments.
• Collaborate with national leadership to position the business line for sustained revenue and profitability growth.
• Drive innovation, differentiation, and thought leadership throughout the marketplace.

Business Growth & Client Development

• Lead regional business development initiatives and strategic pursuits.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, teaming partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Expand WSP's presence across public and private sector markets.
• Serve as executive sponsor for major opportunities and strategic client accounts.
• Promote cross-selling and collaboration among WSP business lines to deliver integrated solutions.

Operational Excellence

• Maintain full accountability for regional financial performance, including revenue, backlog, profitability, utilization, and forecasting.
• Ensure successful execution of projects consistent with WSP quality, risk, and delivery standards.
• Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, risk management, safety, and Delegation of Authority requirements.

People Leadership

• Attract, retain, develop, and engage high-performing teams.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative, and high-accountability culture.
• Mentor emerging leaders and support succession planning initiatives.
• Foster employee development through coaching, training, and career growth opportunities.
• Champion WSP's values and culture while promoting employee engagement and retention.

Technical & Project Leadership

• Support technical excellence and consistent delivery of high-quality services.
• Partner with practice leaders and technical directors to advance innovation and best practices.
• Ensure projects meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
• Provide executive guidance on complex projects, pursuits, and strategic initiatives.

External Representation

• Serve as a visible ambassador for WSP throughout the region.
• Represent WSP at conferences, industry associations, professional organizations, and client events.
• Build strategic relationships that enhance WSP's reputation and market position.
• Support recruiting efforts and employer branding initiatives across the region.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
• Professional registration or advanced degree
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within consulting, engineering, infrastructure, or related professional services environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing significant P&L responsibility.
• Proven track record of growing revenue, backlog, and profitability.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and complex organizations.
• Strong client relationships and demonstrated business development success.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing relationships with major regional clients and stakeholders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple service offerings.
• Demonstrated success integrating acquisitions, building high-performing teams, or driving transformational growth.
• Active participation in industry organizations and professional associations.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $300,000 - $425,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
