The opportunity:

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Regional Tender Manager to lead our tendering activities across APAC and India within the PGGA Power Converter Solutions (PCS) organization.

In this high-impact leadership role, you will shape winning strategies and ensure the delivery of competitive and high-quality bids for both product and system offerings in the renewables and energy storage markets.

You will operate in a complex global environment, driving alignment across regions, stakeholders, and functions while ensuring strong governance and disciplined execution.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Leading the regional tendering activities across APAC and India, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, competitive, and compliant offers aligned with customer requirements and business strategy.
  • Acting as the primary interface for tendering topics within the region, connecting Sales, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Legal.
  • Actively participating in key decision gates, supporting management with clear risk visibility and structured recommendations.
  • Driving and validating bid strategies in close coordination with Regional Sales, ensuring alignment on target positioning, pricing approach, and winning strategy.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end preparation of offers covering both product and system solutions, ensuring consistency between technical and commercial aspects.
  • Ensuring early-stage contractual risk assessment and alignment with commercial strategy, proactively engaging with rest of the Company to define acceptable risk positions.
  • Ensuring full adherence to Hitachi Energy tendering governance, including Gate Reviews and Risk Review processes, with a strong focus on risk identification, mitigation, and escalation.
  • Owning the quality and robustness of the commercial offer, including cost structure, contractual terms, and financial exposure.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background:

  • Engineering or Business degree, with preference for Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • Strong and proven experience in tendering, bid management, or commercial project execution within the energy sector, with specific exposure to renewables and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Solid understanding of both product-based and system-based offerings, and their commercial and technical implications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a matrix and multi-region environment, with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of commercial, contractual, and risk management principles.
  • Strong contractual acumen with the ability to interpret, assess, and challenge contractual terms and conditions during the tender phase, acting as a trusted advisor to Sales and Management. Capable of identifying contractual risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and ensuring alignment between commercial, technical, and contractual positions, in close coordination with Legal.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required; additional APAC languages are considered a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones and drive alignment in a global organization.
