Position: Regional Technology
Director Location: NSW - SHS 2 Holt Street, Surry Hills
Type: Hybrid 3+ days a week in office
What’s the job?
Reporting to the SVP, Infrastructure & Enterprise Technology, the Regional Technology Director (RTD) is a senior leadership role within News Corp’s Global Technology (GT) services organisation, embedded within the News Corp Australia Business Unit (BU). As a member of the local Technology Senior Leadership Team, with a dotted-line relationship to the Regional CTO, the RTD represents GT within the Australian business and serves as a primary technology interface between the BU and the broader GT service organisation.
The role provides a critical two-way connection between local business priorities and global technology capabilities—bringing the scale, expertise and capabilities of GT into the BU while ensuring local requirements and priorities are reflected in global technology strategy and delivery. The RTD acts as a strategic technology partner to News Corp Australia, translating business priorities into technology outcomes and ensuring the BU can effectively leverage GT services, platforms, capabilities and expertise.
The role enables the business to deliver outcomes faster, more effectively and with greater commercial discipline, while maintaining alignment with GT strategy, standards and operating models. Working through a matrix across regional technology teams and GT functions, the RTD provides leadership and influence across strategy, execution, transformation and service delivery.
The role champions the adoption of GT standards, architecture, platforms and tools, while ensuring they are applied pragmatically to meet the needs of the Australian business. In partnership with News Corp Australia’s senior technology leaders and GT service and function leaders, the RTD will help shape and execute the organisation’s long-term technology strategy. The role ensures that GT capabilities continue to evolve in response to changing business requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on service quality, stability, agility, innovation, security and business value. Success in the role depends on the ability to operate effectively across a global, matrixed organisation.
The RTD will build trusted relationships across business and technology leadership teams, create alignment between local and global priorities, and foster strong collaboration across the regions. As a member of the GT leadership community, the RTD will bring the perspective of the Australian business into global technology decision-making while ensuring GT strategy and capabilities are effectively translated into local outcomes.
