Job Location: Atlanta Office - Alpharetta, GA 30009
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 Salary/yearThe Regional Support Engineer (RSE) is essential in sustaining long-term customer success with Beckhoff technologies. By keeping systems running smoothly, addressing complex challenges in the field, and building trust through reliable, ongoing support, RSEs strengthen and expand customer relationships. With firsthand visibility into system performance and customer sentiment, they are often the first to surface risks or uncover new opportunities, playing a critical role in sustaining long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.
RSEs are practical engineers who address urgent technical issues through phone, email, and onsite support. They work closely with Sales and Application Engineering teams to ensure continuity and responsiveness across the region. Beyond immediate troubleshooting, RSEs contribute to scalable support by documenting recurring issues, sharing field-proven practices, and helping internal teams stay ahead of customer needs. When not engaged locally, they support Beckhoff’s national hotline and ticketing system—ensuring all customers receive timely, knowledgeable assistance.
This RSE will primarily focus on the Intralogistics industry, including several large-scale fulfillment projects with a globally recognized key industry end user. The project(s) will include emerging technology that will be installed for the first time and will be subsequently rolled out to many locations across the USA and Europe. The RSE will support installs in the USA with the first being in the Atlanta area.
Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact for sustaining support within the region, working closely with teammates to help customers keep Beckhoff systems running reliably.
- Proactively drive technical issues to resolution through remote diagnostics, hands-on troubleshooting, and on-site support.
- Provide support via phone, email, and Beckhoff’s technical ticketing systems.
- Document recurring issues and share actionable insights to strengthen internal support resources and product knowledge.
- Advise customers on maintenance, best practices, and product usage in real-world conditions.
- As needed, assist with product trainings or onboarding in coordination with Beckhoff’s formal training programs.

- Assist with installation and commissioning of systems

Work Location
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be on-site at our Atlanta office on a regular basis with the flexibility to work remotely on other business days. This schedule supports collaboration while offering a work-life balance.
Travel
This position requires varying travel ranging from 40-50% which may include day trips, overnight stays, and occasional extended travel depending on business needs. Travel may be local, regional, or national. All travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy. What We’re Looking For – Required Skills &

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in engineering or a related technical field from a four-year college or technical school.
- Practical experience with programming languages such as IEC 61131-3 (object-oriented extension), C#, C++, or Python; familiarity with object-oriented concepts preferred.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, motion control, robotics, distributed I/O, fieldbus systems (e.g., EtherCAT), safety systems, and HMI technologies.
- Preferred, but not required, to have prior experience with Beckhoff’s TwinCAT control software and/or with EtherCAT communication protocol.
- Proficient with PC-based systems, industrial networking concepts, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-starter with a goal-oriented approach and strong follow-through in resolving technical issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and reasoning skills, with the ability to stay composed and effective in time-sensitive situations.
- Strong and clear communication skills for delivering technical guidance via phone, email, and in-person support.
- -  Provide well understood, written, status updates to the project team during installation and commissioning phases so that a clear picture of the situation, on the ground, is understood.
