Job Description

Ball Seed is seeking a self-motivated individual to embrace a combination of operational excellence with strategic relationship building. Supply managers work closely with suppliers in their network to build the foundation which in turn supports an unsurpassed level of customer service provided by the Ball Seed sales force.

This role will be a part of a team which is at the intersection of customer experience and sustainable, profitable growth for our company.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Owns the relationship with suppliers to leverage best costs and encourage operational efficiencies between BSC teams& the supplier.
  • Publishes programs on time and accurately.
  • Educates & communicates the supply network features and benefits to our sales force to help them guide actions with their customers.
  • Negotiates market needs to achieve results and a strong bottom line.
  • Collaborates internally and externally for efficiency in pricing, invoicing, inventory management and claims resolution.
  • And any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate degree: Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Three years horticultural experience.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel. Microsoft Office. Previous SAP experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to make determination, Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and proven ability to take various pieces of information, organize them and draw conclusions.
  • Represents own interests while being fair to others and their areas. Gains trust and support of others.
  • Identifies and seizes new opportunities. Displays a can-do attitude in good and bad times.
  • Effectively handles risk. Is calm and productive even when things are up in the air.
  • Acts with a clear sense of ownership. Takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions and failures.
  • Comes up with new, better, & unique ideas. Introduces new ways of looking at problems.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time. Travel would be to trials, production sites, rooting stations, sales events, trade shows, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand 100% of the day
  • Ability to use hands/fingers 100% of the day

Salary Range $70-75k
