Job Description

THIS IS A TEMPORARY, SUMMER-ONLY POSITION.

The Regional Supervisor will report to the Program Manager of the Boston Neighborhood Basketball League (BNBL) program.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate scheduling of officials for all games in the assigned region.
  • Visit each site in the assigned region daily to check on the operation of the BNBL program.
  • Ensure the site coordinator is managing the site professionally and implementing all the Rules and Regulations fairly.
  • Make sure all equipment is functioning properly and ready for each game. Confirm that staff members, i.e., Scorekeepers, Officials, and Timekeepers, are present and ready by game time.
  • Collect coaches' forms, team rosters, birth certificates, and schedules for the league, as well as playoff schedules from all site coordinators. Review all paperwork for accuracy before turning it in to the director.
  • Report any concerns to the site coordinator.
  • Have a copy of the BNBL rules at all times while serving as a Regional Supervisor and implement all Rules and Regulations.
  • Resolve any/all disputes that arise in the assigned region.
  • Make sure that all public safety issues are addressed well in advance and communicate them to the league Director.
  • When working the playoff games, Regional Supervisors have hands-on responsibilities and stay neutral during all games.
  • Prepare timesheets for site coordinators in the assigned region bi-weekly and submit them to the league Director. Responsible for other duties as required by the BNBL Summer Program.
  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

  • Must be flexible and able to function well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Previous BNBL experience preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sexual Offender Record Information (SORI) checks.

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

Terms:

Union/Salary Plan/Grade: Non-Union / $17-$26 per hour

Hours per week: up to 25 hours per week
