About the Role

ArcelorMittal International is seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven Senior Regional Trader to develop and expand our business presence across Azerbaijan and the Central Asian region ("Stan" countries)

This is a unique opportunity to build and grow a strategic trading platform, working closely with ArcelorMittal mills, international trading teams, logistics partners, distributors, manufacturers, EPC contractors, and industrial customers. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying market opportunities, developing commercial relationships, and generating profitable growth across steel and steel-related products.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Establish and expand ArcelorMittal International's commercial footprint across Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
  • Develop strong relationships with traders, distributors, service centers, fabricators, contractors, EPC companies, industrial customers, and key market stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across relevant steel and steel-related product segments.
  • Monitor market trends, projects, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities to drive growth.
  • Develop and execute regional market penetration strategies aligned with business objectives.

Sales & Trading

  • Define and implement commercial strategies and business plans in collaboration with regional and global teams.
  • Generate profitable import, export, and third-party trading opportunities.
  • Lead customer negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract execution.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from business development through delivery and customer follow-up.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and commercial action plans.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate closely with ArcelorMittal mills and global trading teams to identify product and sourcing opportunities.
  • Work with Logistics and Finance teams to ensure efficient and profitable execution of transactions.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Represent ArcelorMittal International at customer meetings, industry events, and trade fairs.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, International Trade, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in trading, sales, business development, or commercial management.
  • Demonstrated success developing new markets and building customer networks.
  • Experience in steel, metals, commodities, construction materials, industrial products, or trading environments.
  • International trading and import/export experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously and deliver results.
  • Experience in Azerbaijan and/or the Central Asian region would be a strong advantage.

Languages

  • Fluent Azerbaijani and English.
  • Russian language skills are highly desirable.
  • Additional regional language capabilities are considered an asset.
