About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Sales – DEX, you will play a key role in executing Arthrex’s commercial strategy across your region. By building strong partnerships with surgeons and tailoring strategic initiatives to your local market, you will lead and develop a high-performing sales team to achieve growth targets across the Sports Medicine portfolio. Success in this role will come from your ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on customer engagement, driving both team performance and long-term business growth.

  • Provide leadership by example to an existing sales force that you will help guide and set targets for in line with the overall Australia commercial strategy
  • Assist your team in meeting and exceeding set sales/commercial targets
  • Support the operations function with sales forecasts and demand plan requirements
  • Lead recruitment, retention, performance management, development, and succession planning initiatives within your team, leading by example and fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Drive inter-departmental cooperation with Operations, Marketing, Finance and other teams to ensure the successful execution of your strategy within your assigned region

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of dedicated DEX / Trauma sales professionals across your region to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Foster a high‑performance sales culture through regular field coaching, structured feedback, and clear performance expectations aligned with Arthrex values.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain top sales talent, building long‑term capability and strong succession within the team.
  • Drive disciplined CRM usage, ensuring accurate pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity tracking, and reporting.
  • Coach sales team in strategic territory planning, account segmentation, and call planning to maximise growth and market penetration.
  • Maintain strong field presence, modelling best‑practice selling behaviours, surgeon engagement, and clinical support in theatre environments.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Medical Education, and Operations to deliver successful DEX / Trauma product launches, campaigns, and education initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance, identify risks and opportunities, and take corrective action to ensure targets are met.
  • Develop and execute territory and business plans aligned with the national DEX commercial strategy and priority growth areas.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, hospital teams, and key procurement stakeholders within your region.
  • Ensure full compliance with Arthrex policies, healthcare regulations, and ethical selling standards.
  • Contribute to the broader AU sales leadership team by sharing insights, best practices, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Requirements:

  • Proven success in sales leadership within DEX, Trauma, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics, or the medical device industry, with a strong ability to develop and maintain surgeon relationships
  • Degree qualification in Health Science or a related discipline is preferred by not essential
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and positively influence customer outcomes
  • Exceptional communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and develop effective territory business plans that drive commercial success
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong planning and execution capabilities
