Job Description

Regional Sales Manager - Central US

Central United States (Milwaukee, Wi)

Base Salary: Up to $120,000

Bonus: c.$50,000

When power quality fails, production stops.

An automotive production line loses power for two seconds and thousands of dollars disappear.

A refinery experiences an unexpected electrical event and critical systems shut down.

A utility faces regulatory scrutiny following network disturbances.

A data centre can't afford a single flicker across a 40MW facility.

When these situations happen, engineers need answers they can trust. That's why they rely on specialist power quality analyzers, electrical test equipment and accredited calibration services to identify problems, prove compliance and keep critical operations running.

This business designs and manufactures exactly those solutions.

For decades, we've supplied power quality and test & measurement equipment used by utilities, oil & gas operators, industrial plants, manufacturers, energy producers and infrastructure operators worldwide. Our products are trusted where reliability matters most and where buying decisions are driven by engineering confidence rather than price.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to lead growth across the Central US region.

This is a strategic territory covering some of the country's most important industrial markets, including oil & gas, petrochemical, utility, power generation, manufacturing and automotive accounts.

Success comes from building relationships with engineers, maintenance teams, reliability specialists, electrical contractors and operations leaders who need accurate, dependable measurement solutions.

You'll drive growth through a combination of direct account development and channel management.

Direct Sales Responsibilities

You'll personally identify and win strategic accounts across the region, including:

  • Electric utilities and energy providers
  • Oil & gas operators and petrochemical facilities
  • Automotive manufacturing plants
  • Industrial processing facilities
  • EPCs and engineering consultancies
  • Mission-critical infrastructure operators

You'll conduct product demonstrations, deliver technical seminars, support trade shows and work closely with customers to understand the operational and compliance challenges they are trying to solve.

This is consultative technical sales, not catalogue selling.

Channel & Partner Management

Alongside direct sales activity, you'll lead an established network of independent manufacturers' representatives and distribution partners.

Your role will include:

  • Driving channel performance against revenue targets
  • Building accurate rolling forecasts
  • Developing end-user opportunities with channel partners
  • Identifying gaps in territory coverage
  • Recruiting, developing or replacing representatives where necessary
  • Ensuring consistent market engagement across the region

You'll need to be comfortable holding partners accountable and influencing activity without having direct management authority.

What We're Looking For

You will likely bring:

  • 5+ years of technical sales experience
  • Experience selling into industrial, utility, energy, manufacturing or process industries
  • Exposure to electrical equipment, power quality, test & measurement, instrumentation, industrial automation, controls, reliability, asset monitoring or related technologies
  • A proven record of growing territory revenue
  • Experience working through distributors, manufacturers' representatives or channel partners
  • Strong presentation and customer-facing skills
  • The ability to engage credibly with engineers and technical stakeholders

An engineering or business degree is beneficial but commercial success and relevant industry experience are more important.

You'll Enjoy This Role If

  • You enjoy finding and winning new business
  • You like solving technical challenges for customers
  • You are comfortable working independently
  • You enjoy visiting customer sites and spending time in the field
  • You can balance strategic account development with channel management
  • You prefer creating opportunities rather than inheriting them

This Probably Isn't For You If

  • You prefer heavily discounted or transactional sales
  • You want a territory that's already fully developed
  • You shy away from technical product discussions
  • You prefer managing partners remotely rather than driving activity in the field
  • You rely on technical support teams to lead customer conversations

What You'll Get

  • Significant autonomy over a high-potential territory
  • A respected portfolio of industry-leading products and services
  • Access to major industrial and utility customers across the Central US
  • The support of a globally recognized engineering business
  • The opportunity to directly influence the growth of an entire region
  • Competitive salary, uncapped bonus potential and strong long-term career prospects

Interested?

Apply with your CV.

If you can share a brief example of:

  • A territory you successfully grew
  • A major industrial or utility account you won
  • A channel partner relationship you improved or turned around

we'd particularly like to hear from you.
