What You Can Expect

The Regional Sales Director (RSD), West Region reports to the Sales, Senior Director and is responsible for leading commercial performance, strategic revenue growth, market development, and customer execution across the West Region for Zimmer Biomet and the aligned neurosurgery portfolio. The RSD has direct leadership responsibility for Market Development Managers, the regional Capital Sales Representative, and the Manager of Clinical Specialists, and is accountable for aligning sales, capital, market development, and clinical support resources around regional priorities. The role leads execution across the NeuroBlate System, ROSA Brain robotic platform, NeuroOne sEEG leads and RF ablation technology, and Inomed headrings. Success requires growth of both capital and procedural business, expansion of physician adoption and utilization, disciplined pipeline and forecast management, strong clinical coverage, and development of an accountable, customer-focused regional team.

How You'll Create Impact

Strategic Regional Commercial Execution

  • Build and lead West Region commercial plans that translate national strategy into clear revenue, procedure growth, capital, and market-development priorities.
  • Own regional performance across the NeuroBlate System, ROSA Brain robotic platform, NeuroOne sEEG leads and RF ablation technology, and Inomed headrings.
  • Establish account segmentation, targeting, conversion strategies, and resource allocation based on market potential, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
  • Maintain disciplined regional pipelines and forecasts for capital systems, procedural growth, new account development, and portfolio expansion.
  • Partner cross-functionally with national sales leadership, marketing, finance, pricing, contracts, clinical, operations, and other Zimmer Biomet stakeholders to win and retain strategic business.

Portfolio, Capital & Procedure Growth

  • Drive NeuroBlate System growth by accelerating new account activation, increasing LITT procedure utilization, broadening physician adoption, and developing durable surgeon champions.
  • Lead capital strategy for NeuroBlate and ROSA Brain opportunities, including account prioritization, executive engagement, value positioning, evaluation strategy, contracting, and close planning.
  • Develop cross-portfolio opportunities that connect stereotaxy, robotic guidance, sEEG, RF ablation, laser ablation, and head fixation solutions across the neurosurgical care pathway.
  • Ensure teams identify and advance opportunities for NeuroOne and inomed technologies within existing and prospective neurosurgery accounts while maintaining appropriate product-specific expertise.

Clinical Readiness & Customer Experience

  • Through the Manager of Clinical Specialists, ensure appropriate case coverage, clinical readiness, training, and continuity of support across NeuroBlate accounts in the West Region.
  • Identify field capability gaps and coordinate product, clinical, competitive, and selling-skills development so team members are prepared to support complex neurosurgical customers.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service, compliance, clinical professionalism, and responsiveness across capital sales, procedural support, and post-sale account development.

Customer, Physician & Market Development

  • Develop strategic relationships with neurosurgeons, epileptologists, neuro-oncologists, radiation oncologists, hospital executives, service-line leaders, and other key stakeholders within priority accounts.
  • Identify and develop physician champions who can support peer-to-peer education, market development, technology adoption, and appropriate expansion of LITT and stereotactic neurosurgery programs.
  • Use customer insights, referral dynamics, competitive intelligence, and procedure trends to refine regional account strategies and uncover new growth opportunities.
  • Ensure coordinated account plans across MDM, capital, and clinical teams so customers experience one integrated commercial and clinical approach across the portfolio

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Strategic planning and field execution in complex, high-stakes medical device and neurosurgery sales environments.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to manage a mixed capital, disposable/implant, procedural, and clinical-support business across a broad geography.
  • Clinical and technical aptitude sufficient to lead teams selling the NeuroBlate System, ROSA Brain, NeuroOne sEEG/RF ablation technologies, Inomed headrings, and relevant competitive solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and retain sales, market development, capital, and clinical-support talent through both direct and indirect leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret pipeline, forecast, utilization, procedure, and account-level performance data and translate insights into action.
  • Executive-level communication and influence skills with surgeons, hospital administrators, service-line leaders, supply chain, finance, and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-up, operating discipline, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across a large region.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and lead teams through portfolio integration, new product introductions, and shifting commercial priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with sales leadership, marketing, clinical, pricing, contracts, finance, operations, and Zimmer Biomet business partners to execute regional plans

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, healthcare, or another relevant field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of successful medical device, capital equipment, or procedural sales experience with at least 3 years in sales leadership roles.
  • Experience in neurosurgery, surgical navigation/robotics, neurotechnology, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, capital equipment, or other complex surgical markets strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading distributed teams and managing a business that requires coordination of sales, market development, capital, and clinical-support resources across a competitive geography.

Physical Requirements

Travel Expectations

  • Up to 60% travel across the West Region for field coaching, customer and physician engagement, case and account support, capital opportunities, and leadership meetings.

The expected salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 plus competitive sales incentives
