Hard work, dedication and results are recognised through career development opportunities, leadership pathways and a range of employee benefits.

As our Regional Health and Safety Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving a positive safety culture and supporting operational excellence across our Eastern Region Construction business.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the General Manager of Eastern Region Construction (NSW), this senior leadership position is responsible for leading and continuously improving health and safety performance across a diverse construction portfolio. You will partner closely with operational leaders to ensure compliance, drive strategic initiatives and foster a culture where safety is embedded in everything we do. This role is based in Alexandria and requires flexibility to travel across the region, including overnight stays as required.

What you’ll be responsible for?

  • Provide strategic leadership for health and safety across the Eastern Region Construction business, driving a proactive safety culture and supporting operational excellence.
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety systems, standards, programs, and initiatives across the region.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify, assess and manage risks, ensuring effective controls are implemented across projects and business operations.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on health and safety performance, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and improved outcomes.
  • Lead incident investigations, corrective action processes, and organisational learning initiatives to prevent recurrence and strengthen safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company standards and industry best practice through effective governance, audit, and assurance activities.
  • Coach, mentor and influence leaders and employees at all levels to enhance safety leadership capability, support risk management and drive continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated Health and Safety management experience, ideally within the construction, infrastructure or related industries. You will have a proven track record of leading and influencing safety performance across complex operational environments, supported by a strong understanding of health and safety legislation, risk management frameworks and industry best practice. Your ability to build trusted relationships, engage stakeholders at all levels and positively influence senior leaders and operational teams will be critical to your success. You will also possess highly developed communication, coaching and leadership skills, with the ability to drive cultural change and improve organisational capability.

Experience managing Environment, Quality, Energy and Sustainability (EQES) functions within a comparable-sized organisation will be highly regarded, as will qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline. Experience leading integrated management systems, governance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives across large and diverse businesses is favourable.
