Regional RFQ Specialist
Role Purpose:
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented, commercially minded, and technically proficient Regional RFQ Specialist to join our Singapore-based Sales team. Supporting India, Southeast Asia, South Korea, Japan, and Australia, you will be the regional technical expert for RFQs and solution engineering, translating complex customer requirements into technically compliant, competitive and commercially viable proposals. Acting as the key interface between regional sales, engineering, product management and production, you will play an important role in converting opportunities into successful business across Asia.
Role Responsibilities:
Serve as the second-level technical support for regional sales organisations across Asia, providing expert guidance on complex RFQs, technical queries and solution requirements.
Prepare accurate, competitive and timely cost estimates, technical proposals and formal RFQ submissions for explosion-protected electro-mechanical solutions and LV electrical panels.
Analyse customer specifications, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring schematics, mechanical drawings and applicable international standards to establish technical requirements and compliance.
Develop tailored solutions by selecting appropriate electrical components, switchgear, enclosures and configurations for applications in explosive gas and dust environments.
Prepare preliminary solution designs, General Arrangement (GA) drawings and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for junction boxes, motor starter panels and LV panel solutions.
Conduct technical feasibility assessments and calculations while supporting regional sales teams with pricing strategies, price-finding activities and technical query resolution.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, R&D, Product Management and Production teams to ensure proposed solutions meet both technical and commercial requirements.
Engage with customers, directly or through regional sales teams, to clarify technical requirements, present engineered solutions and ensure RFQs are completed accurately and within agreed timelines and regional KPIs.
Role Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or B.Tech in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pre-sales support, electrical panel design, estimation, costing or a similar technical-commercial role.
Experience in second-level technical sales support or pre-sales engineering, particularly within control, instrumentation or electro-mechanical products, is highly preferred.
Good knowledge of hazardous area and explosion-protected equipment, including Ex-d and Ex-e applications, as well as international standards such as IECEx and ATEX.
Strong electrical and mechanical technical literacy, with the ability to interpret wiring schematics, mechanical drawings, technical specifications and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
Solid understanding of LV electrical panels, motor starter panels, switchgear and junction box configurations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; knowledge of AutoCAD, 2D Electro-CAD tools or ERP systems will be an advantage.
Excellent English communication skills, strong commercial acumen and a highly organised, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple regional RFQs and customer requirements under tight deadlines.
